This paper validated the seismic force reduction factor Ds evaluation method previously proposed by the authors for double-layered domes with supporting substructures for cylindrical lattice shell roofs with supporting substructures by using a series of nonlinear response history analyses of a massive amount of cylindrical lattice shell roofs with supporting substructures. The evaluation procedure is carefully formulated based on Japanese Building Code. Finally, static analyses with an equivalent seismic load with the proposed Ds were compared to the NLRHAs.
